I had a great value for my money at the Farmhouse. The room was lovely, spacious, and had nice bathroom products. The location was beautiful and the staff were incredibly helpful and pleasant.
The breakfast experience could have been improved with more options.

The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room had everything we needed. Dinner was a long drawn-out affair and the food was excellent. Breakfast was tasty too!

Only a minute drive from a1 motorway, this is what Old England is all about. Beautiful surroundings, a traditional, historic hotel with a lot of modern comforts and friendly staff. The breakfast was also very good. A very enjoyable stay.

I had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse At Redcoats Guest House. The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, even to our furry friend. They provided helpful suggestions for nearby walks, making our stay even more enjoyable. The decor throughout the guest house was lovely, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The meals, both dinner and breakfast, were delicious and satisfying. The location of the guest house was also ideal, allowing us to explore the beautiful surroundings. I highly recommend this hidden gem for a memorable stay.
There were a couple of drawbacks during our stay. we had to pay an additional £10 each for breakfast, while others who booked directly had it included in a cheaper room rate.

The house itself is pretty, if a bit run down in places and the gardens are nice. The food was well cooked, very fresh and very well procured, if a little bland. Towels clean and fluffy. The management were very responsive when I complained about the room rate - which was too high for it's standard of furnishing.
The accommodation block was absolutely awful, it's been very poorly designed and it's dark with a view of a crumbling barn. That aside, the standard of furnishing was appalling for a £94 a night hotel: there was a delapidated desk with splintering veneer posing as a dressing table, a curtain over a recess was the only 'wardrobe', you could see the toilet from the foot of the bed, one bedside table was a coal scuttle and the other was a small dining table - as far as cleanliness goes: there were huge mounds on fluff on the curtain pelmet, the toilet and bath were stained. I stayed here to attend a wedding, according to the other guests, every other hotel in this area charges about £50 a night.

The room was beautifully decorated with exposed beams and antique brickwork. It had a comfortable sofa, a jacuzzi bath, and a giant waterfall shower. The heated bathroom floor was a nice touch. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the dining experience was pleasant with a small but intricate menu. The bar had a good range of drinks, and the wine list was well thought out. The gardens were also beautiful.
There were some minor issues with our room, such as leaking taps and a small TV that didn't work. There was also some flaking plaster in the bathroom.

Beautiful location, lovely gardens, attractive old buildings, big round gravel drive to the front, loads of character. Inside there are oak beams giving a genuine olde-worlde atmosphere. Breakfast was served in the glass conservatory overlooking the garden. Nice to see unusual items like devilled kidneys on the menu. We had one of the rooms in the adjacent stable block which was comfortable and quiet. Loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom. A superb stay - a pity we only had one night there.

The food is fantastic, expensive, but you pay for what you get! The gardens around the hotel are well kept and picturesque.
The rooms on the website of bookings.com do not represent the accommodation you receive! I expected a semi four poster bed with an ample sized room only to get a small room filled by a small double bed!!! We checked out very disappointed the next day!! Not value for money and poor accomodation!!!!

Had a wonderful romantic escape in the countryside. The beautiful conservatory and garden created a lovely ambiance. Enjoyed the delicious food with flavorsome dishes like the beef carpaccio and perfectly cooked baked cod. Wines were also a delightful addition. The attentive and friendly service made the evening even more special. The old country house feel of the hotel was charming, and the spacious room provided a comfortable stay. Best of all, we could relax and enjoy a pint in the sunshine in the large garden area.
The recent conversion of the attached farm buildings to a new bar and more accommodation may take away from the excellent hotel's charm and feel. The slight tiredness of the room could use some refurbishment.

Located in a picturesque setting, the hotel offers a charming old-style atmosphere with friendly staff. Guests have praised the quality of the food, with the chef accommodating special requests. The venue is also commended for its excellent service and customer satisfaction, making it an ideal choice for hosting weddings and other special events.
One minor issue reported by a guest was a mix-up in food orders, resulting in a delay for one main course.
